The conference will consider the ways on which religion, especially the mystical elements of Sufism, Kabala, and the Christian thought of Theresa of Avila, John of the Cross, and Ignatius Loyola, interacted within the literary and musical experience of Spain in the late middle ages and at the dawn of the Renaissance.
