Theological Reflection on the Arts

Othello at the Shakespeare Theatre

Join Woodstock Theological Center and the Washington Theological Consortium for a special performance of Othello at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington on Tuesday, October 18.

At 5:00 pm the Rev. Dr. Roger Ferlo, director of the Center for Lifetime Theological Education at Virginia Theological Seminary, will lead a pre-performance discussion on "The Problem of Evil," along with members of the company who will discuss artistic choices made to bring the play to the stage both in our current production and throughout history.  The performance of Othello will begin at 7:30 pm.

The event is co-sponsored by Woodstock, the Arts Faculty Group of the Washington Theological Consortium, and the Center for Lifetime Theological Education at Virginia Theological Seminary, and is made possible by the gracious cooperation of the Shakespeare Theatre.  The annual Tachmindji Event is funded by the Alexander Tachmindji Endowment of the Consortium.

This event has been organized by Woodstock Fellow John Farina as part of the Theological Reflection on the Arts program at Woodstock.

To RSVP for the talk, please call 202-547-1122 and press 4.  Tickets for that evening's performance can be purchased by calling the Box Office directly at 202-547-1122 or by visiting www.shakespearedc.org
