Dear Friends of Woodstock,

It was wonderful to see so many of you who came from near and far to attend the recent events marking the conclusion of Woodstock's 30th Anniversary year. At the anniversary Mass on September 25th, Father Timothy Brown, Provincial of the Maryland Jesuits, emphasized that Woodstock's mission is as necessary today as it was three decades ago. And he noted that "it is a mission which has been pursued over the years not only by the Center's staff, but by hundreds and even thousands of people."

As readers of the Woodstock Report and collaborators in the Center's work, you are among the "hundreds and even thousands" who join in Woodstock's mission of carrying out theological reflection on the human problems of today. The important work being done here at Woodstock can bear the greatest fruit only when friends like you help connect it to the real human experiences of families, businesses, parishes, schools, and all the communities in which you dwell. I am grateful to see Woodstock's horizons widening day by day. But with your help, we can broaden our circle of reflection - and action - even further. Please consider supporting Woodstock's important work.

As we look forward to the blessings of the Advent and Christmas season, I especially thank God for the blessing of serving you as Woodstock's director at this time when our society is faced with both daunting challenges and rich promise. Please keep the works of Woodstock in your prayers during this season of gratitude and grace.
