The Woodstock Business Conference held its fourth annual retreat in Wernersville, Pennsylvania, September 14-16, 2007. The retreat, entitled "At Work: The Inside Story," focused on these questions:
- Our work desires -- what are they good for?
- What are their sources?
- What is the good we seek to do at work?
- Who benefits?
- What blocks our purposes?
The retreat was led by Woodstock Fellows John Haughey, S.J., and Jim Nolan, along with Catherine Nerney, SSJ. Participants gained a deeper and more intimate knowledge of all that God has lovingly shared with them so that, filled with gratitude, they can continue to respond with love and service in their work and in their lives.
"Ignatius understood that God is one of action; a God that is always at work in people’s lives. The Woodstock Business Conference retreat gave me the opportunity to deeply explore how God is active not only in my professional life but also my personal life. Having had this wonderful experience I look forward to continuing my pursuit to responding to the call of this "active" God."
–Tom Danks, retreat participant |
Next year's WBC retreat is scheduled to take place September 12-14, 2008 at the Jesuit Center in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.
